Keep Your Follow-Up Visits

Many emergency room visits or hospital admissions can be eliminated by a follow-up visit to your physician. Often, your primary doctor or specialist may not know you have been in the hospital or a changing health condition. Call the office to make an appointment shortly after being discharged or to report a change in your health. When you call for the appointment, mention the following concerns as reason for the follow-up visit:

  • You have just been discharged from the hospital or visited the emergency room.
  • You have questions about your changing health condition.
  • You have questions about your medication.
